Yung Ho Tae Kwon Do is one of the oldest martial arts schools in Cornwall. Our instructor, Master Robin Davies is a fifth dan black belt who has been teaching for over 30 years.The philosophy of the school is very much about developing the individual's inner strength and potential.
About Tae Kwon DoTae Kwon Do originated from Korea, although the modern day art was officially named in 1953 its roots are very old; the earliest records of it’s practise in Korea date back to 50BC. Translated; “Tae” means “kick or strike with the foot”, “Kwon” means “strike with the hand” and “Do” means “discipline”, “art” or “way”. As this suggests Tae Kwon Do is a martial art which combines unique kicking and striking techniques, but it is also much more than this; as well as self defence and fighting skills students learn discipline and strength of mind and spirit. |
